Sperm Whale Pooping
Sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus) pooping near the surface off Sri Lanka. Whales eat at depth, poo at the surface and migrate throughout the oceans. This transfer of nutrients is of high importance to phytoplankton which converts carbon dioxide into oxygen, fighting climate change.
